Helical Pier Systems

Helical Pier Systems: Ideal for Tight Spaces, Heavy and Light Buildings

Helical pier systems can be used in any type of soil and for buildings that are both heavily or lightly loaded. They are especially ideal for soil where moisture levels change, and for homes or businesses built in tight spaces, because there is minimal disruption to the surrounding area during installation.

How do helical pier systems work?

  • Rugged steel-shafted screw piles are drilled deep into the earth until the weight of the building is transferred from the changing soil to the anchored pier
  • Once the piers reach the proper depth, heavy-duty steel brackets are installed under the building’s footing
  • The piers are installed by mechanically “screwing” them into the soil
  • In most cases, helical pier systems are successful in lifting structures back to their original levels

Since they don’t rely on the weight of the building for depth and capacity, helical pier systems offer excellent foundation support for different types of buildings including structures with sinking porches, decks and sunrooms.
