The people at Clarke's were outstanding (from the initial call to the free estimate to the gentlemen who came and filled in the cracks). I had called several places on homestars and either no one picked up, or my appointments were cancelled last minute. When the work was being done, the reps would call me down and explain the whole process of what they were doing and why. They were very knowledgeable and I'd recommend them to anyone who needs to fix any cracks in their basement.
David Bunn was a competent, personable rep for the company. He is extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable and confident in our choice.
I read about using helical piers as a foundation for my backyard deck project. They don’t require me to dig in the hard clay and rock filled area my house in Stouffville resides, with an auger or shovel to pour cement piers. Clarke Basements arranged the locates and a time to be on site, they were on time first thing in the morning while I was at work, they put 7 piers into the ground where I marked them out, and left my backyard the way it was when they got there. If it weren't for the piers in the ground I wouldn't have known they were there, and I was able to start building that evening! Helical piers are a little more expensive than concrete piers but the time saved and minimal damage to the backyard is worth the extra cost, plus I know I've got a solid foundation to build on based on the way helical piers are installed, it’s based on how hard the piers get to screw in the ground, rather than guessing you've reached undisturbed soil, plus the piers are installed 5 – 7 ft in the ground. I would recommend Clarke Basements to anyone. Very professional, courteous, and punctual the complete package!
Very pleasent and informative.
